Day 3: Baoshan - Wumu (B, L, D). Altitude: 2000m

Discovery this morning of the fabulous village of Baoshan, built on a large rock. In some houses, tools, furniture and even an entire kitchen are dug into the rock. After 20min of walking down the village, you will be waiting for a local boat that will bring you downstream – passing the village of Yangke, to the fields below the village of Wumu. Climb the 500m from the shore to the village. Like Baoshan, Wumu also has a long history of a few hundred years but the village is here quieter. The access road dates from 2014 and with the Suming and Mingwei villages in the same valley there are still nine active Dongba shamans. Accommodation at Huahuasei Lodge, the only inn in the valley, opened in 2013 by a Naxi / Belgian couple. Rooms with private bathroom.
