Spend a short week in a couple or with the family in the tropical region of Xishuangbanna, in southern Yunnan. 6 days in total with day trips from Jinghong.
Daily program: Discovery of Xishuangbanna (6 days)
Day 1: Arrival in Jinghong ~ 40 min transfer
Reception and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day free. Overnight at Crowne Hotel 4 *
Day 2: Jinghong - Ganlanba - Menglun - Jinghong (B) ~ 3h drive
Meet your local English-speaking guide and driver at 9:00 am at your hotel. Take a private inflatable boat to descend the Mekong River to Ganlanba. Exploration of Dai minority villages around Ganlanba (possibility to do it by bike). Then exploration of the minority park (entrance: RMB 65) and its beautiful wooden carved Buddhist temple. Discovery of the Menglun tropical garden in the afternoon (entrance: 140 RMB), and great walk to learn more about biodiversity. In the evening, explore the night market along the banks of the Mekong. Overnight in Jinghong at Crowne Hotel 4 *
Day 3: Jinghong & Wild Elephant Valley (B) ~ 2h30 drive
Meet your local English-speaking guide and driver at 9:00 am at your hotel. Exploration of the local market and discovery of all the tropical fruits, then short road through tea plantations and rubber trees, to discover small typical villages, to the valley of wild elephants. Lunch (not included) on the way then exploration of the elephants with show of tame elephants. Return to Jinghong at the end of the day. Overnight at Crowne Hotel 4 *
Day 4: Menghai - Nannuoshan - Jinghong (B) ~ 3h drive
Meet your local English-speaking guide and driver at 9:00 am at your hotel. Morning market tour of Menghai, a Bulang minority village, as well as a village specializing in artisanal paper production. Afternoon walk to Nan Nuo Mountain, famous for these ancient tea plantations. Walk for about 3 hours through Aini villages and tea plantations. Overnight at Crowne Hotel 4 *
Day 5: Jinghong (B)
Day of rest, or quiet visits to Jinghong: walk along the Mekong, visit the park of the big Buddha, Manting Park or Botanical Garden of the city. Overnight at Crowne Hotel 4 *
Day 6: Departure from Jinghong (B) ~ 40 min transfer
Transfer to the airport. End of the discovery tour of Xishuangbanna.
