Spend a short week in a couple or with the family in the tropical region of Xishuangbanna, in southern Yunnan. 6 days in total with day trips from Jinghong.
Daily program: Discovery of Xishuangbanna (6 days)
Day 1: Arrival in Jinghong ~ 40 min transfer
Reception and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at the Crowne Hotel 4*.
Day 2: Jinghong - Ganlanba - Menglun - Jinghong (PDJ) ~ 3 hours by road
Meet your local English-speaking guide and driver at 9:00 a.m. at your hotel. Take a private inflatable boat down the Mekong River to Ganlanba. Explore the Dai minority villages around Ganlanba (option to do this by bike). Then explore the Minority Park (entrance fee: 65 RMB) and its beautiful carved wooden Buddhist temple. In the afternoon, discover the Menglun Tropical Garden (entrance fee: 140 RMB) and take a long walk to learn more about biodiversity. In the evening, explore the night market along the banks of the Mekong River. Overnight stay in Jinghong at the 4* Crowne Hotel.
Day 3: Jinghong & Wild Elephant Valley (breakfast) ~ 2.5-hour drive
Meet your local English-speaking guide and driver at 9:00 a.m. at your hotel. Explore the local market and discover all the tropical fruits, then take a short drive through tea and rubber plantations, discovering small traditional villages, to the valley of the wild elephants. Lunch on your own en route, then explore the elephant park with a show featuring trained elephants. Return to Jinghong at the end of the day. Overnight stay at the 4* Crowne Hotel.
Jour 4 : Menghai – Nannuoshan – Jinghong (PDJ) ~ 3h de route
Meet your local English-speaking guide and driver at 9:00 a.m. at your hotel. Visit the morning market in Menghai, a Bulang minority village, and a village specializing in handmade paper production. Afternoon hike on Nan Nuo Mountain, famous for its ancient tea plantations. Hike for about 3 hours through Aini villages and tea plantations. Overnight stay at the 4* Crowne Hotel.
Day 5: Jinghong (B)
Day of rest or leisurely visits in Jinghong: stroll along the Mekong River, visit the Big Buddha Park, Manting Park, or the city’s botanical garden. Overnight stay at the 4* Crowne Hotel.
Day 6: Departure from Jinghong (breakfast) ~ 40 min transfer
Transfer to the airport. End of the Xishuangbanna discovery tour.
