in Shangri-La, Yunnan Province
of China, Songtsam Hotel sits
at the foot of Songtsam Lama
temple, is one of the largest
Lama temple outside of Tibet.
Refurbished from a traditional
Tibetan residence, the boutique
hotel has 22 rooms and suites
that combine Tibetan ethnic
style with modern comforts.
There
are 3 luxury suites and 19 guestrooms,
of which 12 have balconies that
face Lamu Ygcuo Lake while the
rooftop offers a panoramic view
over the surrounding hills and
grasslands. All rooms feature
local handcrafted furnishings,
classic Tibetan carpets and
fabrics. Each suite features
an extra living space with lounging
sofas and casual furnishing.
There is also a meditation room
on the forth floor of the hotel,
which is built in the style
of the composition of Tibetan
monastery.
Restaurant
in Songtsam Hotel features traditional
Tibetan food prepared by their
Lhasa chef. Famous Sichuan flavors
and western cuisine are also
available. Books and dvds are
available in the library. Next
to the front courtyard, it offers
casual outdoor lunch and snacks.
