Yunnan Provincial Museum - Kunming Travel


	On the first floor of the Yunnan Provincial Museum you can see many bronze items coming from excavations of Yunnan area, in particular a bronze sarcophagus and a bronze bull attacked by a tiger. They were discovered in 1972 and supposed to be made in a BC 4th century tomb. The bull was worshipped and is now representing the symbol of Kunming city.

On the second floor, many religious relics as well as numerous of ivory, gold and jade artifacts reinforced the exhibition. The modern style of the museum may be surprising, but the quality of the objects exposed is undeniable.

It takes more or less 1 hour to visit the Yunnan Provincial Museum. You can also visit other sights around Kunming like the Stone Forest, Golden Temple, Bamboo Temple or climb up to the Western Hills.




Entrance fee of YUNNAN PROVINCIAL MUSEUM: 20 RMB per person Access: Yunnan Provincial Museum is located in No.2 of Wuyi street. You can reach there by taking public bus No.26 or a taxi for 8 RMB from downtown of Kunming. Remark: Yunnan Provincial Museum is closed on every Sunday.
