Day 1: Shangri La - Meili Mountain
(B) |
Driver
and guide pick you up at 8h30
at your hotel in Shangri La. Day
drive to Deqin and Meili Mountain.
On the way, visit Dongzhulin monastery
and nunnery. Also have a stop
at the beautiful bend of Yangtse
river. You will cross a 4200m
pass, through Baima Mountain.
Arrival in the afternoon at your
hotel in front of the beautiful
Meili Mountain. Check out local
Tibetan temple Feilai if time
left. |

Day 2: Meili Mountain - Yanjing
(B) |
Sunrise
on Meili Mountain and sacred Peak
Kawa Karpo (Kawagebo). After breakfast,
drive further North to Yanjing,
along the Mekong, on a paved road,
till Yanjing city. Yanjing means
"Salt Well". It was
a very important provider of salt
for whole East Tibet years ago.
Visit hot spring on the West Bank
of the Mekong, salt mines and
gorgeous Catholic church at Ci
Zong, built by French missionaries
in the beginning of the 20 th
century. Overnight in Yanjing. |

Day 3: Yanjing - Zuogong (B) |
Morning
drive to Markham (3h). Markham
is the cross point between Yunnan-Tibet
and Sichuan-Tibet "highways".
Visit interesting Gompa (Monastery)
of the city, from the Yellow Hats
Sect. A sky burial is close to
the temples, birds are flying
around the temple. After lunch,
continue to Zuogong, through Dungda
La pass (5080m). Overnight in
basic hotel in Zuogong. |

Day 4: Zuogong – Rawok Lake
(B) |
Today
drive to beautiful Rawok Lake.
Road is really good till the Game
La pass (4600m). Then drive through
the 99 bends road to stay overnight
in the remote Rawok village on
the bank of the Lake. Enjoy scroll
in the afternoon around the lake.

Day 5: Rawok Lake - Nyingchi (B)
|
Long
drive today from Rawok Lake to
Nyingchi, along the Parlung Tsangpo.
Have lunch in Bomi. In the afternoon,
drive through Serkhyim La (4400m),
enjoy the view on the gorgeous
Namche Barwa Mountain, the highest
in Eastern Tibet. Overnight in
comfortable 3* hotel in Nyingchi.

Day 6: Nyingchi - Draksum Lake
(B) |
Morning
visit of Lamaling from the Red
Hats Sect, very unique because
it hosts men and women monks.
Afternoon drive till Draksum Lake.
Visit beautiful island on the
lake, and have a walk around.
Overnight in basic accommodation
on the shore of the lake. |

Day 7: Draksum Lake - Lhasa (B)
|
Morning
drive from Draksum Lake to Lhasa.
On the way, stop at the magnificent
temple of Ganden, founded in 1409,
located on the top of a hill,
overlooking gorgeous Kyi Chu valley.
Arrival in the end of afternoon
in Lhasa. Overnight in 3* hotel.
End of services. |
